Our Mission
Since 2003, Basket of Hope has been a beacon of compassion in Cape Town. Founded and led by Michael and Christine Lakay, our home-based organization partners with local businesses to nourish futures by providing essential food and clothing to schools and impoverished communities. We’re on a mission to transform lives and build a stronger, more caring community—one basket at a time.
